Hey all,
I’m about to buy a compressor (from Lowes) and was looking for advise on what the smallest compressor, in terms of CFM and PSI, I can buy that will comfortably handle a framing nailer for a one-man framing crew.
Also any brand name advise also welcome,
Thanks

I have been using a 2-hp Hitachi and a framing nailer and it keeps up pretty well. Check the reviews on amazon.com to see what people like and don't like. In that size range, there are lots of models - Dewalt, Hitachi, P-C, etc. Also, lots of the compressors have labels on them which recommend which tools they can keep up with.
For a one-man framing crew, you will be fine with something that runs on 115V and can be carried around by hand.
Check other threads going back in this section for other compressor recommendations.
alecs,
thanks for the reply
I did an advanced search and found some good info.
I've seen that hitachi pancake and thought about it.
I'm also looking hard at that twin tank dewalt that goes for $269, although i would like to spend less.
The Hitachi I am using is a twin tank, Hitachi EC12 2 HP Air Compressor, not a pancake. Probably the same pump/motor though. It's listed on Tool Crib / Amazon for $240 with free shipping
It's reasonably easy to carry for short distances, and it seems to keep up well and it's not too too loud.
Good luck.
I wouldn't go less than 4.5CFM@90psi, if you're going to be outside in cold weather don't go oilless.
