Hello all,
I’m buying a new circ saw and need to choose between the Skill 77 (not the Mag version) or the Bosch. I know there have been improvements incorporated into the Bosch. Has anyone used the Bosch long enough to comment on durability? How about the shoe…I know they made a waffle design but is it really strong enough for job site abuse? Is the motor really beefier or are they playing the amp rating game again? I like both saws and realize the Bosch should be the better saw but the Skil has been around and field tested for a LONG time. Any advice is appreciated.

I have the skil HD77. I'm used to it, so I'm very happy. I suspect the Bosch is also excellent. I hear the guard is better, which would be nice. See how it feels in your hand and compare it to the skil. The skil could be better ergonomically, but it's a real wood sawing machine. I think bosch will probably drop the skil models eventually.
look at the discussion posted on the 20th.........I have the bosch and love it......the guard, the base plate, the rafter clip, everything.......the way it cuts.......best saw out......go bosch and don;t look back you won't be sorry
The Bosch is the skill 77 only updated. Same Company owns both, and id be willing to bet they come from the same factory.
Go with the one that feels the best in your hand.
