I have a 10inch Makita sliding mitre saw… dust bag is pretty much worthless… dust all over the place. Anybody got a good, simple, inexpensive way to capture more dust without creating a big apparatus behind the saw???/ Thanks, Tuna

Nope. A chopper can blow dust around almost a 100 degree swath out the back, and to get the dust, you need a large shroud.
as soon as you asked fer cheap you limited yur fixes.... to about nothing

Been there, done that. Best solution I have seen, even with the commercial products available, is a metal or plastic basement window well with a top and bottom made of plywood and a duct opening attached. A few bucks, yes it's a big apparatus but it gets 80-90% of the dust. Some goes up and forward and you just can't get it all.
A shop vac with the auto switch from sears makes a big differance, still messy but better.
When I'm needing to keep the dust down on my choppers I simply throw a damp (near dry) towel over the back of the saw and most of the dust just falls to the ground right under the chopper.

I don't know if it really works but since Rousseau has a good reputation you might look in to their dust collection solution for chop saws.
