I’m tearing out the old shelves and starting over in a small (≈ 2’ x 4’) pantry. I’m thinking I’ll put pull out sliding shelf units along the side walls to maximize the storage normally lost in the corners. Each unit ends up about 12” wide, 6” deep, and 6’ or so high. If you fill each one with soup cans (the heaviest pantry thing I can think of) I estimate the weight around 65 lbs.
So here’s the question: What’s the best way to mount these units?
I’m looking at heavy-duty pantry slides. I like the simplicity and low profile but they seem either really expensive or I worry the less expensive ones might not hold up over the long run.
I have pictures in my head of some sort of skateboard wheels with drawer slides as stabilizers rig. Inexpensive, reliable but the floor, though, is bound to take a beating.
Then there is the hanging barn door track approach. The hardware is now visible but could be incorporated right into the design nicely, I think. But, the price starts climbing again. Ouch.
The previous message threads I found just talk about the different slides. Has anyone done something like this and found an alternative? Any sage (pantry item pun intended) advice?

If you don't re-invent the wheels..........
The couple of slide out pantry units I've installed as part of a kitchen reno, were supplied by the cabinet company.
They consisted of a pair of full extension slide outs at the top and the bottom of the 6' high x 12 or so wide pull out. All the shelves, the bottom and the door fastened to this "box" pulled out.
Your estimate of 65 lbs may be correct for the goods, but let's not forget the rest of the thing.
Good full extension hardware is available and though not cheap, is pretty fool proof provided you buy quality and don't come close to exceeding the weight ratings.
Best of luck.
