I have a client who is interested in ‘disappearing’ sliding windows or doors in his exterior walls; anyone have any experiences? The current openings are about 8′ with a 6’10 header height. One thought was adapting a pocket door hardware kit to fit a sash.

Try Hopes steel windows and doors, they have a line that "pockets" into walls.
