OK, House with full foundation attached deck bridged to garage. Garage is built on a slab. There is a roof over part of the deck. The job is to close in the area under the roof with Patio doors. The deck will be detached from the garage and placed on footings. however the garage wall and header will still move from frost. I have an idea that would allow the partition wall to stay stationary and the garage and header to float. Has anyone ever done something like this? How did you do it?
