OK, so a thread about smoked pork butt got me started posting pics of my addition job, so this weekend I actually remembered to take some pics of the Bar-B-Que while doing railings.
1962: A couple of pork butts ready for the grill. We’ll be spraying railings while she cooks.
1963: On the grill at Noon.
1965: Smokin’ gets started.
1966: In the meantime, painting is underway. Made a makeshift spraybooth to keep the neighbors from getting too riled up.
1967: Several sections done & drying.

Bar-B-Que and Railings, Cont.
1979: Cut it up a bit and let it cool a bit so as not to burn any fingers when pulling.
1992: Meanwhile, roast some corn on the cob, slathered with butter, garlic salt and chipotle pepper powder.
1980: Add the secret sauce to the pork and roll it up in wraps. Ready to serve to hungy guests. (In exchange for the loan of the airless sprayer. Good trade!)
1981: Sides of roasted corn and red-skin potato salad.
1982: Meanwhile, actually got some construction done. A few rails installed.

1985 & 1986: Lovely Assistant using my non-'lectric router. This is a plane that was used to make drip edges on siding. Figgered it oughta work for the underside of my rail caps too.
1988: Profiled cap board. Radi-Plane for to ease the top edges and moulding plane to profile the bottoms.
1995: Weekend's progress -- rails installed, caps primed and drying. We'll get them on this week.
Now, I'm heading down to the kitchen for some leftovers!

Great railings and a gret pork butt. It all looks great. Nice to have a helper.
Headstrong, I'll take on anyone!
Nice to have a helper, but great to have this particular helper!

You do realize, of course that forum rules require that you have enough for everybody, when you post something like that...
Mike.
Thanx for sharing. You've got 3 elements working here! Love the spray tent.

Not half so much as I did. Two days to prime those suckers by hand. Two hours to spray 'em -- twice! Good thing my buddy just happened to mention he had just picked up an airless. Well worth the Bar-B-Que dinner. Well, that and he brought along a wild salmon fillet we grilled up after the pork was smoked. I think I got the best of THAT deal!

Ah ... you had me there. I thought you may have been referring to the somewhat eclectic building elements.
Thanks.

It's all good.
The food, the work, the help.
That salmon sounds great too. Right on the grill?

You betcha. Turn the grill up high for a few minutes to heat the surface up so you get some grill stripes on the fish. Back off the heat to medium and apply fish to grill, skin side down first. Cook 7 minutes a side, with a little maple glaze just to make things a bit more interesting. Garnish with a few fresh herbs from the garden & serve.
