Has anyone ever worked with smooth surface cement fiber panel siding? I want to use this on the house that I am building, but cannot find any examples of a finished house with the smooth panel siding, as opposed to the planks or T-1-11 look-alikes. Does anyone have tips for installing this stuff? Thanks for the help.

Are you talking about say, 4x10 or 4x8 sheets of fiber cement. If so, i've put some up in the style of board and batte. The stuff is heavy! The only problem we've run into is getting the flashing to look good at the horizontal joints on gables andsuch.
*We applied 4x8 sheets onto a garage last summer and what helped us the most was the fact that the walls were dead on plumb. This allowed us to use the corner as a starting point. On the vertical seams I suggest back-caulking with "Vulkem" caulk. Also, a coil nailer shooting galvanized splitless siding nails makes life a lot easier....another note bring a strong friend.
