Just put my snow blower to sleep for the day.
We just had a record breaking NorEaster! and it’s not even winter yet
The official amount for my town is 35.6″ It started late nite friday and finished just in time for the Patriots game against Miami.
Oh ya we won!
How is everything down in RI (smith?) and up in Maine (piffin?)
Anyone else get SNOW

Yeah, I got snow. Spent Saturday shoveling instead of working. Not an equitable trade; I love what I do at work.
I think we should all get together, and sign a petition, and send it up to heaven, requesting that all the little storms that God has planned be saved up, and dumped on us all at once. He doesn't even have to tell us when. If I'm gonna stay home, it should be more of a vacation.
We got about 10-12" here in central NJ, and the roads are already clear and dry. Some of the side streets are a little sloppy, but the highways are clean. It's supposed to be into the 40's tomorrow and Tuesday, so most of it will be gone. Or at least I hope so- there's rain scheduled for Wednesday, and that'll make a flooding mess if the snow's still here.

I spent seven hours shoveling home and jobs, but get this - I haven't started to cean up my biggest job yet.
We were going to pour a slab saturday but I canceled it due to weather. Have it set for tuesday now. But the drifts are six feet deep in one corner of that foundation hole. Found out about a snow blower I can use. my plow guy broke his plow though so no access to site. Anybody wanna take odds on whether this slab happens on tuesday?
Only about 8-10 inches up to midafternoon when i came in for breakfast and lunch but it is still coming down white. Maybe another three inches in the last three hours

Three feet!
Wow.
We were forecast (CT) for "up to 12 inches", then "up to 16 inches", then "18 inches plus".
We got about 6 inches.
Thank goodness, as my 42" snowblower isn't scheduled to be delivered until the Dec 21st.
Where are you, Mongo?? I heard and read the same reports, but we got more than 6"! But no 18", thank God!!!
I was up on the roof shoveling it onto the deck, then on the deck shoveling it to the ground. Insulate the heated addition tomorrow...gotta keep the ice dams at bay!Jake Gulick

Get on I-95 North and don't get off for about 50 exits.<g>
Near Old Saybrook/Old Lyme.
I love the snow, but I'm really hoping it melts off the driveway over the next few days. Then, after the blower comes in?
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...
I watched the radar...youguys were in a zone that was always clear...weird! It's almost like that part of CT had an anti snow force field.
The snow came a week or so early...I have lots of outside details I had hoped to wrap up. grrrrrrr.Jake Gulick

Pretty picture. Puts you right in the Christmas spirit, with that white stuff lying on everything and all...
Here, almost 70F with our regular 50 m/h winds, but not complaining any.
I like my blizzards in the spring, when they melt ASAP. Good moisture then. It is a frozen/muddy mess all winter, if we get them now.
I feel for all of you with that early dumping. Stay warm and safe.
Snow Snow Snow.... Man do I feel envious...... The temp here today is only 55F and sunny and bright.
NNNAAAAWWW I once spent a winter in northern Montana..... never again.
I like California SF Bay area weather.
Christmas is coming..... should I buy the wife that new tablesaw ....hmmmm
Nice shot Mike. Now are you going to tell me you guys are building a deck today?View ImageView ImageView Image"Rather be a hammer than a nail"

You guys have all the luck, all we had here yesterday(sunday) was 60d. and sunny.
The second floor I'm framing here has about 24" on it.
Think I'll work on sanding another room in my house then painting it and let mother nature melt most of that white crap by herself.
shoveled in my driveway yesterday....sucked big time.
If I had a snowblower I coulda brought it up to the second floor....but I don't.
I have plenty to do inside so why not mother nature help outside..spose to be in the 40's this week and sunny.
Thought of using my torch that I torch roofs down to melt snow on the ground...yeh sure it "might" be that easy...lol..and no, I aint using it on the second floor. Not quite that stupid..close but not quite
Be sick of shoveling

Why would you want all that snow from your driveway up on your second floor?
LOL
I borrowed a snow blower today to evacuate that basement for the slab pour, but it wouldn't throw any higher than my armpit. It was sad.
Luckily I had five guys helping and we had it swept dry by lunchtime.
come on Crete!.

No snow in Buffalo, for once. We feel left out.
What wimps, sure you got a lot of snow but in two weeks or less it could be gone. We get snow and it piles up and up, stays untill April.
Just kidding, I still remember the freak mega snowfalls when I lived in Detroit, what a mess. some of the worst driving conditions I ever seen. On the positive side crime was down during the blizzards, don't ever recall having a problem with ski by shootings.
Were I live in MA. just north of Boston when we get a storm like this the snow could be here until spring! We got a early storm like this a few years ago and ended up with over 100" for the winter! ( we average 45). So far i'm lucky I have mostly indoor work for the time being. I was thinking of Piffin ( pouring the slab) each time I moved the space heater LOL. Crime isn't a issue for the most part here. If you can't out run the cops don't do the crime!

I've been lucky, the past two years I was inside most of the winter and able to time the outsidew wok with the good weather.
Would be this year too except that we've had two months of one storm after another delaying things, plus a hunting season for my excavator with half a hole.
I woke up this morning dreaming my arms werre slinging a shovel. Between snow and backfill stone and gravel around the gutter drain lines and more snow, I've been on the end of a shovel for three days straight.
