We just installed Cobra II rigid ridge vents on our new home. The first wind and cold snow has blown a dusting of snow into the house. What’s happening? Is this normal? I am worried that the snow will melt on the insulation.

Read the thread "Because I have to vent." Gene recommends a ridge vent with external baffles to prevent what you're encountering. Happens at my parent's, also, after every snow with wind.

I took Gene's advice and got the Shingle-Vent II with the external baffle. It is made by Air Vent. Inc..
I think the address is http://www.certainteed.com.
They have a free video entitled Blowing Away the Myths, which explains why this particular ridge vent is the best to buy.
They address the snow issue. Rain, too.
Hope this helps.
