Does anyone know of a nice looking stock continous soffit vent? I hate the stamped aluminum ones.

Decks must be able to withstand high winds, so choose fasteners that offer the uplift resistance you need for your area.

How about a nice continuous vented soffit? http://www.jameshardie.com/hardisoffit.htm
I need a vent that is only 2" wide.
I don't have a photo, unfortunately, but an architect turned me on to an installation where I was doing soffets with T&G beveled red cedar. At the selected line of the vents, I cut off the tongue and cut a saw kerf (thin blade) about !/4" from the face of the board (like a thin groove), slipped in the edge flange of a brown-toned plastic continuous soffet and then on the other side of it, layed the next course of cedar with the flange laying in the existing groove. The result is that the vent lays flush with the face of the cedar, gives a dark highlight and, in that application, is clean and pleasing, kind of like laying a stip of dark wood in a hardwood floor.
I've since done several that way and they're really attractive. But I'm limited to my cedar application so don't know if this helps. The plastic strip vents come in a limited color selection so.....? Some people would bitch even if they were hung with a new rope.
