I’m a bit puzzled here. With a continuous ridge vent system, which is best to use – a continuous strip soffit vent, like Cor-A-Vent, or the perforated vinyl/aluminum type?
Instinct tells me that the continuous would be better, but I can’t provide an intelligent reason.
Anyone got pros/cons? Experiences one way or t’other? Unfounded pontifications?

It seems most of the difference in soffit vents comes down to asthetics vs. price. As long as the vents are sized to allow proper air flow, it's a matter of taste.
If you are a detail-oriented person, the more hidden or less commonly used systems help avoid the "track house" or "apartement" look of standard soffit vent.
The perferated pannels never quite look right to my eye, but neither do track house vents.
