I would really like to find a simple software program where I could do quick floorplan layouts, window locations, etc. to show my customers when we are in the preliminary stages of planning. It does not have to be complicated, more of a “show and tell” type of thing. Most programs seem everly complicated to me. I don’t want engineering specs, etc.. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you define simple as being easy to learn and use, or do you define simple as cheap? The two are not necessarily the same.
A pencil and graph paper is as simple as it gets.
Some nearly free Cad probgrams work prety much like that.
I find Softplan simple because for me, it was easy to learn and to use. Autocad and Turbocad are much harder.
I have heard that Chief architect can even be easier - thus, simple(r)
But if you want both simple (easy) and Simple ( cheap) try Broderbund's 3D Home Architect.

I just started playing with/learning this, but it might work for u, reminds me of what i've seen of sketchup, but haven't learned that either
get download a free versiom, pay $20for the free version on a CD w/someother stuff, pay $!00 for a home version, or pay $500 for the pro version
u can download some samples to see what they look like when u open the free version
bobl Volo, non valeo
As I go thru the tutorial for designworks and then look at the tutorial for sketchup, I don't think they are in the same league. sketchup looking like the better of the two, particularly if you're paying $500.
designworks looks less intuitive or as powerful just looking at tutorialsbobl Volo, non valeo
3D Home Architect.
