Solar clothes dryer quit working
So, with 42F overnight low the HP used only about 12 kW-hrs to heat the house the previous and the next day (yes, separate kW-hr meter on the HP to know that)
Thus, now that we are all supposed to be ‘super green’, the question is, anyone know if there are any vapor cycle clothes dryer commercially available that link into home heating systems?? Realize the cycle would be complex to get good efficiency (e.g heat indoor air, dryer exhaust thru outside evap for HP, etc)
In 1980, worked on a 40 kW fuel cell for a United Techologies trial installation at a laundry in Portland, OR that incorporated some interesting thermal cycles, but have never seen anyone even attempt integrating a home clothes dryer into a vapor cycle system.
If anyone knows of any studies on this, would be interesting to read up on it.

can you hang them in front of your wind farm?

I was thinking a clothes rack under a heat register with an oscillating fan blowing across them.
FWIW my father made one. I am guessing sometimes back in 40's.
But it was tied to a coal furnace.
By the time that I could remember stuff like that it was not being used and replaced with an electric dryer.
From what I heard it worked, but the problem was that the furnace cycling did not match the need to dry the clothes.
And while we could have used the excess moisture, it is probably not wanted in your climate.

What about hanging the laundry in a cabinet or closet with a dehumidifier?
42 degrees sounds kind of cold... it rarely gets below 70 here. Have you tried restarting your sun? Since everything has a computer now, maybe it just needs a reboot!

Look, just send me to my drawer. This whole talking-to-you thing is like double punishment.
Or get one of those ROM upgrades to improve it's performance.

Past my DIY skills, plus, my name is not barry O, so not up to trying to play god either.
Have heard that you can reboot though. Long cycle time however, heard it takes 6 to 7 months for a reboot, and ya gotta wear boots mosta the time too!.
