Good morning,
Several years ago I saw an article in either a book or magazine describibg a solar furnace. This particular heat source was a dish (possibly a converted 10/12′ satellite receiver) with a heavy wall container mounted at the focal point. The dish was covered (as I remember) with reflective mylar.
The dish was mounted such that the device could follow the sun during the day and automatically reset after sundown so as to be ready for the following day. All the schematics for the motor control were included in the article.
There was a warning that the water had to be continous flowing through the system so the container didn’t burst.
I have had a dish I scrounged up with the mounting sitting around long enough that now I can’t find the darn article!
Cheers,
Paul
