Some handyman work in Port Charlotte
I have a solid client that invests in properties here in Mass, Florida, and Bermuda. They have some needs to be addressed at a condo they own.
This will work out to be a great account for someone who is quick to respond, and is honest.
They are looking for a Handyman in the Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte area. They need a light switch replaced, a door replaced and repairs to some deck boards. Anyone have some time to look at this?

Sorry. My license is only good in sarasota county. This whole licensure crap in florida is really what's causing the crappy construction and shortage of good contractors around here.
I've never seen so many worthless hacks passing themselves off as contractors anywhere else I've lived. and all the while I cannot legally work anywhere. it's funny.
Kinda reminds me of Texas... it is against the law to drive without insurance. You cannot get a drivers license without showing proof of insurance, you cannot license your car without showing proof of insurance, and yet texas has the highest incidence of uninsured moterists in the country!
I have lived in other places where they have no law requiring car insurance and they have a very small rate of uninsured drivers. likewise I've lived where there is no licensure for contractors and you really have to look hard to find any really bad ones. It's called "free enteprise" the bad ones eventually go out of business because they suck. while the good ones flourish. in Florida there just aren't enough to go around at all , period. therefore the bad ones, of which there are many, have no problem staying profitable, simply because they are the "only game in town". Ultimately the ones who wind up being the real losers are the consumers.

I was just thinking about you the other day when I heard the new commercials for SXSW!
Is it that hard to get licenced in other counties? I know nothing of the process, just curious. You know, I live in Texas, we don't need no stinking licence! Except to drive of course.
