Figured I’d share some more.
These are from last Friday where highway 21 crosses the Brazos river. This is the middling-famous rail bridge.
Here’s the water under that bridge
Here’s what it looks like down river–it’s about 12-15′ fuller than normal in all these shots. That tree normally is on the bank edge, not out in the river.
And, transversely across the river parallel to the bridges.
The photos do not do justice to the sense of “mass” the river had that day. The ripples only vaguely suggest just how fast that deep water was moving. Perhaps it was memory kicking in, that I was a “bank” high from the normal water’s edge. Still a sight to see (even if the bridge at 105 is liekly even more dramaitc for being only half as high over the water).

Here's some color from out one of our county roads (Dyess east of Hardy Weedon, less than 2 miles from the 'metro' city area).
When I turned on Dyess, the west shoulder was just swathed in Paint; handily, there was a pull-in to get to a wellhead to stop. So, this is towards the NW.

And this is the shoulder the other way.

Then, the field back to Hardy Weedon.

The shot of the nodding-head pump, with the new skyline behind, failed to 'make,' being frame 25 of 24 will do that . . . but, this one, turned out quite nicely

Then here's the real reason I was motoring down Hardy Weedon road. Decent color and conditions for being Good Friday and all.

See, some color is there. Oh, and some not-wild life.

Yes, we keep our Q on the hoof, too.

Not any of the places I generally want to go shoot pictures <g>.
Been too damp for scorpions, locally, mostly--at least in town.
There were likely all sorts of rattlers near several of my shots, but I didn't see any (and I was looking, it's just prudent).
We have junebugs in duck-stuffing quantities, though. The last little freeze seems to have put down one batch of crickets. Also gave us almost 5 days of respite from the skeeters, too.Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
