Hello,
I recently moved out and i noticed that the wall that separate the two bedroom was very thin as in can be broken with a strong punch. The real problem is that you hear clearly what other people say if there was no wall: the hollow core door is doing a much better job than the divider wall because i’m even hearing faint sneezing/yawning and body movement as if it was in my own room
I’m looking for ways to dampen/reduce sound from the opposite room. I thought about buying a huge wardrobe, MDF panel to attach to the wall, carpet or foam but i don’t know whats the best in term of price-quality ratio. I’m renting it too so i’m limited in term of house work
Cordially

If you moved out? Why worry?
Otherwise, mass is probably out of the question. The most reasonable abosorption product might be your only option.
Mass should be in/on that demising wall. Find and old theatre or playhouse and nab one of those curtains. It’ll take a well mounted curtain rod to hold it if you’ve something to screw to. Keep it a couple inches away from the wall.
And what’s the connection between you moving out and knowing you can punch a hole through adjoining bedroom walls?
Hello,
I understand your concern about the thin wall and the noise issue. To improve sound isolation without major changes, consider using thick curtains, rugs, or carpets. These can help absorb sound and make your space quieter. You can also rearrange furniture and use a white noise machine for additional noise reduction. Please check with your landlord before making any permanent changes.
