my sound/motion detector, 1992 vintage, gave up the ghost.
it is in the garage, and when it was working, turned on the ceiling lights (were fluorescent tubes, now are LEDs in place of the fluorescent tubes) when motion was detected (person walking or movement of arms) or when a sound was made (garage door opening or dog barking). the lights would stay on for about 10 minutes before automatically going off.
it is attached to a single gang electric box, on the garage wall, about 2ft down from the ceiling.
the garage lights can also be manually controlled by a typical light switch in the hallway leading to the garage – so i guess the switch is a three-way switch (or variation of such).
i can find many motion detector units to replace it, but i like also having the sound detector aspect of it.
is the sound/motion detector still being made? any sources for this?
thanks.
