After buying a pneumatic nailer to ease the arthritis a tad I’m not having much success finding galvanized nails for Porter Cable framing gun in quantities less than 5000!
Specifically looking for 16’s and also a wider choice in ring shank with a full head and 22 degree collation.
Next time I’ll research the supplies as well as the tool!
Thanks in advance.

I agree, I have had same problem finding small quantities of nails. oh well!
*Find a rental store that caries the tool and maybe the nails. They'll sell by the clip. Won't be cheap, but if you don't want a full box.
*Len- go to (www.eastsidestaple.com) and they will help you out. I buy all my nails there. They have a great selection of guns and compressors too.
*How bout a gas powered one?
*I just bought a Porter Cable fr350 -- Good Gun! -- I have been able to find 8d and 16d nails in 2000 - 2500 quantities at Lowe's and other local stores. No problem finding galvanized or ring-shank (they just cost almost twice as much!)I have only run into problems with the huge quantities when I started looking for 6d (2") nails -- then the #s jumped to 5000-6000 per box.I checked several Web sites and found the same kinds of quantities.
*I've read a lot on here about tools being the best. One thing I dont hear a lot about are the service and parts availability. Also the materials these tools use. My case in point is that every store in my area carries Dewalt orbital sandpaper. Theres not five hole paper in the whole town . I get behind on my ordering. nuff said
*len, try the following search page, substituting your make and model# in the search box for mine...http://www.google.com/search?q=Duo-Fast+KW-1748+A&hl=en&sa=N&tab=iw hope it helps, brian
*also try eBay.brian
*Rental center @ local Homer Depot has sticks of nails.
*I have the same problem. The 1,000 nail packs cost 1/2 +/- a box of 4,000. Trying to selling nails to freinds from the big box. It is working for me but not everyone wants galvanized 15g nails.
*Let me see if I understand! You bought a 300$ nail gun but you dont wasnt to buy a 50$ box of nails for it.Ive seen it all now!T
*What i want is 5 to 6 sizes of nails. Some galvanized and some plain. I spent $179 for my PC 250da. I could not use at the most 24,000 nails around the house. It not a matter of affording the $38 a box it a matter of waste.
*IMHO people seem to be going crazy for framing guns. To me it's ridiculus to go out and buy one for a DIY. IMO they don't necessarily do a better job- just faster. Unless its a big job I think hand bangin' is just fine, and the framing comes out tighter and more accurate. In many cases the gun and workpiece just bounce. There ARE some framers who still hand bang. There are instances like tight spots and toenailing where the gun really shines........Guess I'm a little old fashioned. My 2 cents. :o)Ken
*Oh, yeah, Len- Sorry, arthritis is the real deal and I hope the gun helps you! -Ken
*what model number?
