Hello All,
Does anyone know of a source for old stock or reproductions of Morgan stair parts. They have been out of business for a number of years. They were readily available in the Mid-Atlantic region, though I don’t know about other areas .
I have a client who wants to extend his main staircase to the third floor using the same Morgan parts that were used in the existing staircase. My options are 1. to reproduce them myself, 2. have them reproduced, or 3. find someone who is allready reproducing them, obviously the best option is #3. Does anyone have a lead?
Thank you for any assistance,
thmcg

damn, am I fat!
Morgan parts are a standard profile, many companies make parts that are very close. You couldn't tell the difference side by side but a Morgan rail may be just slightly different than another brand. It shouldn't matter in your case. The railing profile is often numbered 6010 and companies like L. J. Smith, Coffman and others use that same number. I think HD carries that profile along with some parts that match. Morgan parts were carried by Brosco (Brockway Smith Co,) and there are still the same parts in their catalog.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Thanks for the lead. The handrail isn't my problem, it's the newels. So far I have found balusters, but not the newels. I'll check out brosco
