At the lumber yard is a sample of material that a customer is looking for. Apparently the customer has a lot of this stuff in their house.
But the house was built many, many years ago and no one has any idea where this stuff came from.
See pic.
Anyone know where this stuff can be had??

Google is your friend. Search using phrases like "shoji plastic." Shoji screens are traditionally made with rice paper, but now are often made with that plastic.
"Google is your friend"Yes it is. Thank-you.I couldn't figure out what word to use. "shoji" it is.Thanks.

what is it used for... never seen this before...
"what is it used for... never seen this before.."In this particular case, as I understand it, it is used as Jamie indicates above. Or at least very similar to Shoji screens. Light weight movable wall panels that are wood frames with this material filling in the middle.Rich BeckmanThis signature line intentionally left blank.

I can't remember who I used for my lamp shade material. Depending on end use the pvc coated rice paper is great. It folds crisply and is stiff enough to handle without wrinkeling. It also looks great.
I haven't used the acrylic sheets, but think they would be the ticket for larger panels, doors, or windows.
I'Lll have to post this and check to see if that first link works. It does from my bookmarks, but comes up red, instead of blue when type it in here.
