Help!
I’ve spilled some wood stain on sandstone pavers and can’t seem to remove the spots. I’ve tried powerwashing, HCL acid, etc. but can’t seem to lift or blend the stain/spots…does anybody have any suggestions about removing a stain from masonry?
thanks in advance,
j

You could try some bleach, it works on wood. There are two types of bleach used for wood, household bleach like chlorox and Oxalic acid (this would be labeled as "wood bleach" and can be found at a hardware or paint store, Dap has a product called wood bleach. They can be used alone or as a mixture together.
Good Luck

ABSOLUTLEY NEVER DO THIS!!
You can generate phosgene gas and possible explosions with strong chemicals. I would not want to breath or take a shower in any of them.
You can so them one after the other (after rinsing), but not combined.
Actually there are 3 types of "beach" used on wood.
Chlorox and it is good for removing dyes.
Two part wood bleach and that is good for removing the natural color from wood.
And oxcalic acid. That is good for removing water and iron stains from wood.
BTW, Oxalic acid is often what is used in deck cleaners and brightners.
But I would start with a paint stripper because a stain is pignments and/or dyes combined with resings to hold them in place.
Then you can try the cholox followed by the oxcalic acid and then maybe by powerwashing. But I suspect that much of the pigments will stay "stuck" in the crevices of the sandstone.
Stain 'em all.

Turn the pavers over.
Dangit, you beat me to it.
Other solutions... replace the stones that got stained. Or... "spill" the stain on all of them.
A good heart embiggins even the smallest person.
