Yikes a snake!!! Seems intresting! How did you do that? I was going to make an over hanging lamp something like that but comes up behind the sofa and over a little for reading. I had in mind was cut the blanks and make a fixture then glue all the strips to the arc that I wanted. Then route a slot along the top line about 1/4 wide and an 3/4 deep then route 1/8 deep and wider than the 1/4, run the wires all the way to the top from the floor, make a cover to cover the wires. (Safe?) How did you route out the corners while it is sprailed?

Blue: You could just cut one of your inner laminates into two narrower rips...and run your wires in the gap...and then laminate all the wires and wood into one glue up.

I would have to leave room for the wires for heat and repairing the wires. We have a pet rabbit and she lets it loose around the house. That bunny really loves to chew on those wires and that got me thinking if it did break on the lamp I would have to get it out someway, so leaving it freely in the channel would let me thru easy. This bunny is pretty smart not to go anywhere in the house but only on the cat's litter.
