Came into a box full of big carbide bits.
The biggest have hex shanks, my bosch is a spline.
Know about spline to sds, sds max, hex to sds, etc.
However, Cannot find a spline to hex adapter online, not really wanting to forge a spline to taper into a spline to hex and go thru the re-temper exercise (have not fired up the forge for a few years)
So, anybody know about bosch hex bits and drives?? Could take the bosch apart to see if there is a hidden hex in there?? Something simple I’ve not looked into???
Replies
Take them back, or demand he cough up an adapter.

Believe it or not, I saw one at Home Despot yesterday.
Just a normal chuck with a spline sticking out the back.
With all the masonry bits...
you may have saw an adaptor that goes from SDS to a conentional chuck...

Maybe the best course is to wait for someone to give you a free drill that runs the hex bits.
free drill that runs the hex bits
I had to give $35 for the spline drive Bosch at a grage sale a few years back.
Who knows, maybe.....
Straight spline to hex should be about the same cost as a spline to taper, which are only $15 or so, which I can afford <G>
Otherwise, do have an extra spline to taper - stick the taper in the forge, hammer it down over the hex, then redo the heat treat on the whole thing.
