Hello to all,
I recently read in consumer reports that the split unit ac’s are more energy efficent than window units.
Does anyone have any information on these units and what brands would be a good investment.

Deckorators Voyage decking, which is mineral-based rather than made of a plastic or wood composite, is lightweight and doesn't expand and contract as much as standard composite decking.

Typically, that is true. Window units are small, inexpensive and very portable. Thats why there so popular. They are more energy efficient now than ever, but still not one of the more effective and efficient means to cool your home.
Ductless split systems are usually more efficient, always much more expensive and will require the installation by a professional or very savy DIY, with access to the specialties needed for evacuating and charging a refrigerant system.
Mitsubishi, Sanyo, Friedrich and LG are the most prevalent brands in this market and have lots of information available on-line.
