I’m just now discovering that my Spotnails framing nailer (MS5 or someting like that) is obsolete and nails are no longer available. I once read a review of nailers in FHB or JLC where this gun was not well liked, but for the type of work I do, it has been great. It is quite compact and shoots a great variety of nails from 3 1/4 common to 8d hot-dipped galvanized ring-shank nails with a trim head.
Does anyone know of a source of nails for this gun? Has anyone found a good replacement?
Thanks!

I have alot of boxes of nails left from my Spotnailer gun....all kinds from ribbed decking nails to.....I'd be happy to sell em' to you but I think the shipping might be a bit much. I'll sell em' to you for what I paid plus shipping from area code 11724.
I liked the gun but my supplier is kinda far and not worth my while to keep treking out there so I'm buying a new framing nailer not to mention the gun is about ten years old or older and about to die I think.
Be ribbed : )

In his first interview since the stroke, Ram Dass, 66, spoke with great difficulty about how his brush with death has changed his ideas about aging, and how the recent loss of two old friends, Timothy Leary and Allen Ginsberg, has convinced him that now, more than ever, is the time to ``Be Here Now.''

Thanks Andy! Too bad I didn't know this 2 weeks ago. I was just down your way (Grew up in Locust Valley and Oyster bay). Getting nails for this gun has always been a hassle, but possible. Now, it seems to be getting impossible.
Which gun did you decide to buy?

Email the factory? Worth a try maybe.

Give Allied Tool and Fastener a try. http://www.alliedtoolfastener.com/ He's a Spotnails dealer in Maine- ships nationwide.
Most of the nails i use in my duo fast gun will work in my spotnail too. Its a little different angle but they seem to work fine. I think the duo is 22 degree and spotnail is 17. Its a decent gun but i will never buy another because the nails are too scarce.
Al,
Try this web site (http://www.stainless-nails-brads-staples.com/Spotnails.htm). Do they have your model gun listed? I have never ordered from them yet, so I cant say how they are. Hope this helps.
