The application is a 4,000 sf branch bank building. I know very little about the different types of insulation. Normally we use kraft paper faced fiberglass batts in the exterior walls. The company is making noise about LEED ratings and improving the efficiency of the branches, so I’m wondering if spray foam would be a better choice. The entire exterior of the building is sheathed in 1/2″ ply so there would be something to spray against. How does the cost compare?

Sure foam is better. Call your insulation contractor to price it. It might be 3x the cost.
fast.... what are the walls 2x4....2x6...steel stud ?
banks have set-back thermostats...and lots of their heat loss/ heat gain is from the constant in / out
if it were 2x4..... i might talk to a decision maker about a mooney wall with dens-pak cellls
2x6 metal studs. Actually the one I am about to start will be 2x8. We have a basic automated building control system that limitsd the high and low temps. We have double front doors that help control the air changes, but you're right that is a big factor."Put your creed in your deed." Emerson

Steel frame work, Then go with the mooney wall to reduce thermal transfer. Install will be more the fibre glass but less than foam.
