Going to look at a Spraytech Airless. Never heard of ’em, but that doesn’t mean much. It’s a model 419 and they’re wanting $350. Googled model #, must be obsolete.
Not a painter but will use to paint garage in and out. Can rent, but this seemed like a possibility and a little more convenient. Possibly resell after or ???, I have a hard time letting go of tools unless they suck….hmmm, I guess an airless is supposed to suck…or pump….well, anyway, you get the picture!
Any feedback on brand or things I should watch out for?
Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.

I have a Spraytech Model 1920. I use it for new construction painting and have no complaints. I paint about 15 houses a year. The only things I do is clean it good after each use. I run about (3) 5 gallon buckets of water throught it. I also break down the spray gun and clean the filter or replace it and clean the nozzle and tip. I checked with my local paint store (not the morons at the big boxes) and they said Spraytech is a good solid unit. A funny story about the big boxes is I bought the sprayer there. I was picking up roller screens and stopped to look at the sprayers. The unit I have retails for about $800. They had it marked down to $50! It was used once and had to have the motor replaced. All the paperwork from the repair shop was in the box. They were selling it at a discount because there was some paint on the wheels and it needed a spray gun. Everthing else was good.
The unit you are looking at is not a commercial unit but will definately work fine for your garage. Good luck!
Thanks for info, I talked to the owner, has two hoses and guns set up, one for oil, one for latex, extra tips etc. Sounds like he took care of it. Less than a year old, he thought about 50 gallons through it.
I'm second in line, he'll let me know if the first flakes.

I have 2 of them, 1620's. I bought both of mine from Lowe's. It seems that Lowe's sells these things to homeowners, who take them home and stain their deck, and then don't clean them.
They then bring them back to Lowe's saying they don't work. Lowe's refunds their money. Then they send the unit to Spray Tech (Wagoner) and pay to have it rebuilt (cleaned) and tested. That costs them another 90-150 bucks. So they now have a used unit that no one wants and I have bought both of mine for less than $200.
The last time I was in the store they had 3 lined up and wanted me to buy one. They work great, parts are available and at that price I can just run them to junk and buy another. DanT
