just noticed that the plastic tips on my spring clamps has worn through so that the metal is showing.
are there replacement tips available (I’ve never seen them)?
or ….?
TIA

Steal them from a buddy's clamps?
How about the liquid vinyl stuff used for putting grips on pliers, etc?

Get some old inner tubes from a bicycle shop, in different sizes. Cut pieces of them an inch or so long, stretch them over the ends of the clamps. The ends will be open, but that doesn't matter. You may have to clean black rubber marks off of some surfaces, but they'll prevent scratches and gouges.

only use them for welding now that you dont have to worry about melting the plastic tips
/works for me
Steal them off the handles and cut them shorter. Most of mine don't have rubber handles anymore.
Hot glue. It's what I use for the pads on my brad nailer after I lost it.
