I built a new house and when the heating contractor placed the cold air ducts he attached them directly to the 2×10 floor joists. Now when we walk across the floor the joists spring a little and cause the cold air ducts to squeak or creak. Any ideas on how to correct this situation?

Decks must be able to withstand high winds, so choose fasteners that offer the uplift resistance you need for your area.

I had a similar problem with air ducts and joist hangers. I simply sprayed them with WD40 where the metal was attached to the wood. For the duct work spray along the bottom edge of the 2X10 joist.
*If you are getting that much spring, it sounds like a lack of proper bridging, under sized joist for the span or somthing of that nature. WD40 eventually evaporates
*Thanks for the tip on spraying the floor joists with WD40! It appears to have solved the problem. I don't know about you but I can't stand floor squeaks.
