Another question about my 1920 Dutch Colonial: a few of the stairs squeak like crazy! Whats a good fix for this? I though about drilling a few holes in the offending treads and injecting some Gorilla Glue. Any ideas?

Can go get to them from below?
no, cant get them from below and I can see them moving when I get down at look closely (having someone step on them). I think they are sliding up and down on the 90 year old nails. I just wondered if its taboo to add some glue to stair treads. I've never built stairs before and don't want the treads to crack, etc.

If you can see any nails, use a set to deepen them somewhat.http://forums.taunton.com/n/docs/docDownload.aspx?guid=CAFDEA31-902C-4F75-9AA2-4DD5EBF749CB&webtag=tp-breaktime

Open the ceiling under the staircase. Once the underside of the stairs are exposed and cleaned they can be blocked and glued. Tread/riser connections can also be re-fastened and the framing screwed tight.
I'm thinking along the same lines as gordsco. If you can get to them from below you can solve the problem for the next 100 years.
