squeeky hardwood floor

Have problem with squeeky hardwood floor. Owner does not like the idea of drilling hole and breaking off screw as with carpeting. Can I fix this problem from underneath in the basement ceiling…………….

        *David, First you need to identify the location of the squeaks. Is it coming from the hardwood flooring or from the sub floor? Is it a localized squeak, ie one spot only or does it follow you as one walks across the floor? Is there floor underlay paper between the floor and subfloor?walk gooddavid
