therma tru is a very nice door.We usse a lot of the metal ones in garages etc. but the fiberglass “wood look” I have not had good luck staining them. so my supplier started staining them. $600 for a pair of french doors. now he does not want to do it so a local painter who does them will at $500. by the time you get a pair of doors, stained (not painted)and installed, your nearly at the price of a Marvin or Anderson unit of wood/ clading.
Are others of you finding this true in your area.
What is your favorite line of quality french doors and still look like wood or be wood and be finished and installed for under 2k.
We have had too much trouble with the big box stores (HD,etc) with thier low cost ones warping etc within a year

Get the kit, stain them yourself, it's actually pretty easy. The hint is to use THEIR stain. It may look like a commonly available gel stain, but it's not.(I know, as does my painter, he tried everything to duplicate) Shoot their urethane on with a HVPL. You'll love how easy it is.
*I have NEVER had good luck with any Therma tru door. The wood in thre stile is not solid so the dorrs are not strong enough. Warp as bad as any wood door I've ever seen. Got one theyve replaced three times and is still going to H#@&! I won't buy another one.
