I have kicked around the idea of having a stairbuilding seminar at my stairshop in Illinois for quite awhile. I just was too busy with stairways and building my helicopter. I had several ready to send a deposit…but I just felt I wasnt ready to give a seminar that would be worth the money. I have been preparing for one and have one week set aside in either August or September…preferably August. My shop is air conditioned..so its nice and cool.
So, I am planning on a 5 day seminar covering curved layouts, laminating, making router jigs for mortising curved and straight stringers…..lots of little tricks I have learned that I never would post. I would have manuals made up for each person. There would be basically all the steps of building a curved stairway. Chalkboard sessions, any questions will be answered to the best of my knowledge. I want this to be a serious full day of learning, hands on…yet very laid back as thats how I am wired. I originally had decided on $2000 for a 5 day seminar, and had several ready to send a deposit as I mentioned. I feel I am now ready to make it worth the $2000.00 You should be able to go away confident that you can tackle a curved stairway and straigh ones with more confidence. This $2000.00 includes assistance for one year by e-mail or phone for any questions you may have on a stairway you are presented. I am a very patient type…and will welcome this service being used. I will limit the class to around 6 people, but will need a minimum of 3 to provide a seminar. Anyone interested in doing this in one of the last three weeks in August….tell me whats available…and I will work it out between all the ones that are interested until we get one week with at least 3 people. You can e-mail me at [email protected] if you are interested. When I have enough to fil one of those weeks….I will keep in touch and request a deposit. I feel especially in these economic times….any extra knowledge will give one an extra advantage.
I plan on having more of these if this works out.
