Looks like I have three screened in decks lined up, started the first already. Aroung here we use 3/8 ply for soffit material and seems stapling is the quickest way to go, or just another excuse for a new tool? Any comments, suggestions re which manufacturer to go with?
thanx, gdcarpenter

even if it is another excuse, use it. Senco or Duofast, my two pics on sheathing staplers.

What are you going to use to put the screen up with? I just bought the little PC upholstery tool for one I have to finish. I tried using my long ones but it fires too hard and I wind up cutting up too much screen that way.
I haven't fired it up yet as I have to finish a roof repair first :0(

Will you need something more like a finish stapler than a sheathing stapler?
Not that I am disagreeing with RW..
Senco or Duo Fast.
I have a Senco SKS( 3/16 crown) shoots 3/4 to 1-1/2" staples.
Excellent holding power. Sets the staples, but not too deep.
Love the gun, no problems and no oil.
Have also used the Duo Fast KN model. Same staple. Another great tool.
For sheathing staple (7/16 crown) I have a Bostitch. I like it very well also.
The best part........ A new tool for you. Lucky guy.
I think I have covered this in another thread. You CAN NOT use "Do I need it?" when figuring out if you are going to buy a new tool! Wether you not you will ever use said tool is totally beside the point!
Section 37 Article 22 Paragraph B of the MAN BIBLE clearly states the reasons why a man can buy a new tool. Ahem...I quote...
"Reasons for new tool purchase
1) It's there
2)You can "
I hope this has cleared up any confusion you may have had about new tool purchases!
I don't understand! I cut it twice and it's still too short!
Good one.

I believe the other reasons provided in the earlier thread were
It's Shiny
Dull in need of new home
And I believe the next paragraph down of the book makes one execption, A man may not purchase a new tool if it has painted flowers or otherwise looks "girly" with out the result being a life of humiliation, torture, and a free kick in the arse from his co-workers if it is rumored he has used it, or dares to brandish on site.
They sells those things at hardware stores in your area? We have "handpainted" flowery little hammers and 4 in screwdrivers at our Ace.Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, Professionals built the Titanic.
lol :)I don't understand! I cut it twice and it's still too short!
