When you staple house wrap over high density foam, do the staples need to go all the way into the sheathing?

Yes and at least some house manafacturers prefer the use of button caps - they can be hand nailed fairly easily, although those button cap staplers are the ticket.
Let me ask you a Q though... By applying house wrap over foam, could you be be creating a moisture trap? No specific expierence - just a thought...
To my knowlege there will not be a double moisture barrier. The rigid foam board breathes.
