Hello People, Hope everyone is staying safe.. I was just wondering, First, this is a 2 Family, 2 Story house. I am on the second floor. It used 1 pipe steam heat. There are only 3 radiators on the second floor with 5 on the first. I am in the process of insulating the pipes from the basement through the first floor. The basement has ALL pipes at 1 1/4″ leaving the furnace. As it goes through the first floor one stays at 1 1/4″ and the other 2 come up as 3/4″. Is there any rime or reason for this? The radiator in the bedroom that keeps the 1 1/4″ all the way through kicks some serious butt.. Not so much with the other 2, i am hoping insulation will help. Pictures:Â I am guessing this is 3/4″ pipe cause this insulation fits PERFECT on the 1 1/4″ pipe, It’s 1 1/4″ insulation)
