Has anyone here ever constructed a steel building? I was wondering what kind time frame it would take. Looks simple just never did one and my crane operator is out of town.
any imput would be great…Thanks

To prevent moisture buildup and improve performance, install a continuous air barrier—such as drywall or specialized membranes—under tongue-and-groove boards or other interior wall paneling.

Did a tilt-up slab job back in the spring that had steel columns, beams, roof trusses and decking. 17,000 SF. My crew did footings, floor slab, tilts w/ weld plates, and column anchor bolts. Ironworker subs came in 2 days after the tilt stand and had the whole thing erected in 3 days. They had a semi trailer rig with all the trusses plus a small boom crane on board. Used a rented cherry picker type lift, crew of 3 journeymen and one locally hired labourer. Self contained, impressively fast, decent accuracy.

I did this one by myself, took two weeks.after the slab was poured.
Nice one. Is that your own shop?Lignum est bonum.
The metal frame itself isn't too bad with a cherrypicker or small lift once you have the slab poured and your anchor bolts set. What takes time by yourself is all that insulation and screwing the sheeting to the walls, ditto for the roof.
It typically take less time to construct a steel building than other building types. This is because metal building systems components are designed and pre-built which are then easy to assemble. Thus small buildings can be constructed in 2-3 days and larger one can hardly take a month. We recently have our building built by worthless spam link removed in 2 weeks.

I heard they are in trouble for using weak bolts and some of their buildings are dangerously substandard.
