Hello all-
I have poured a narrow concrete counter (24″) for my entry and I am looking for some steel supports online.
I have found bulky office type supports, super expensive European braces… I really want simple steel 45 degree counter supports. I see them in commercial kitchens all of the time, but not anywhere online. I’m sure I can have them fabricated, but the web would be a much easier alternative.
The braces cannot be an “L” type bracket (due to a waterline–long story), I have found plenty of those. I am looking for a support that attaches to the bottom of the counter (towards the front edge) and returns to the wall at a 45 degree angle. Nothing decoratve.
The counter is a whopping 1200 pounds, so the supports cannot be wimpy.
Can anyone advise…???
HELP.

I know you didn't say legs but 1200#! I recently bought galv steel pipe cut to length at Home Dpot with flanges and end caps to support new tops I bought worked out great.
Do you know anyone with a welder? Or, visit a welding shop in your area to have some made. Depending on thickness and type of steel (stainless, hot rolled, cold rolled) expect to pay between 60-180 bucks per bracket. We make our own for counters, bars, and such. For hidden brakects, 3/8 hot rolled mild steel shouold work fine, if attached well.
Hope this HELPS.

Doug,
I can't tell exactly what you're looking for, but try http://www.mockett.com/default.asp?id=2. I think their entire catalog is online.
