First sign of a warped stud or a termite and you will wish you went with steel.
First time you bang into a wall and listen to it, you will wish you went with wood.
I would pick the material that gives you the design and 'feel' results you want and then work to eliminate any practical side effects.
If termites have made it to your interior studs, what have they been chewing through on the way? Control the termites and you can build with what you like.
*If you check the archives you should find some discussions on steel vs. wood. Also, scroll down to the thread titled "Calling Andy Engel" and you will find another discussion on the pros and cons of steel vs. wood.
*Heck Johnny since you have cinder block exterior walls you might as well go with steel studs . then you only have to worry about your trusses getting termites. :-) Just a thought, Dave
