Would appreciate help / advice from those familiar with quality manufacturers of steel siding. We experienced baseball sized hail in April and looking to replace existing siding that is no longer manufactured. We are located in South central Iowa for those of you that might have specific info relative to our location.
Your responses will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Hey Frank,
Do you have a style or type you are shooting for? I've recenlty been investiating a leak on a house with TruLog vertical board and batten steel siding. The leak is probably a window flashing issue, not something to do with the siding choice. I can't say I feel any particular way about TruLog yet, but at least the majority of the steel is flat against the sheathing (assuming it's installed tight ot sheathing) which may resist damage better than more traditional options. It does have a texture to it so it MAY act like a drainable cladding.
Good morning Joe,
Thanks for responding. At present we are looking at the EMCO brands seamless board & batten as well as a 8” flat panel with 3/8” recesses. I will receive samples of each within a few days. These samples will also have texture as you describe and will have vertical orientation. Application techniques and underlayment are concerns so as to avoid any leakage. We are also scheduled to meet with a contractor who purportedly has the equipment to form the profile from rolled sheeting of either style. I don’t know if the TruLog brand is available in our area but I’ll take a look at their products and specifications as well. I hope your leakage issue is one easily resolved and I appreciate your responding alert raising those concerns.
