Does anyone know where I can buy one of these? I had one that was given to me, but I broke my tape the other day. It is so much more convenient than looking for a scrap of wood or something.

I glue a piece of white plastic laminate to my tape. You can erase or wipe it clean
That sounds like a good idea, but I would have to find a scrap of laminate and a little contact cement to boot. I know these things must be available for sale somewhere for a buck or two.
I always seem to have some scrap p-lam around. Check with the local lumber store or home center, perhaps they have a damaged piece they'll give you. A small can of contact cement is good to have around anyway."A contented man enjoys the scenery of a detour"
Go to http://www.Fastcap.com and you can click on a link that will show a distributor in your area. I believe they called them Fast pads - though I did a quick search on the site and didn't see them.
They did have something that was called a phone pad - same idea to stick on your cell phone.
They also sell tape measures with the pad on them.
Your distributor should be able to help you. I think they cost about a quarter each.
Good luck,

I just filed that under tools in my favorites. Nice link, thanks.Who Dares Wins.
I peel the sticker off my fat max and rough it up with a little sandpaper. It works swell.
Like Alanroberson said, peel off the sticker and sand that area. I works, it's easy, simple and foolproof.
I've been writing on all the "empty" spaces on my Fat Max, but I'm going to try peeling the sticker off tommorrow. The FastPads on the link seem like what I had before. They really work great, but the closest distributor is 45 minutes away. It hardly seems worth paying the shipping or driving for them. I'll keep an eye out locally, maybe a local hardware store has them hanging by the register or something. Thanks for the tips.
Glad I could help
They are under ProCarpentry
http://www.fastcap.com/prod.asp?page=procarp
They have several different version include on that you can write on the tape and use it as a story stick.
Amazon has some of them (along with the 3rd hands).
Do a search under Tools for FastCap, also for Laserjamb.
Saw the tapes. Was looking for just the stickers that they call a Fast Pad - have bought them at a local distributer before - 4 round stickers on a sheet for $1
