I installed Armstrong urethane tiles on my kitchen floor a couple of years ago. I have several joints where dirt accumulates, some in traffic areas and some where there is no traffic at all. At these joints there seems to be a sticky substance on the surface of the tiles that captures dirt. I use Goo Gone to remove the substance and the dirt but at these joints it always seems to reappear. What is weird is that only a portion of a joint line is affected (about 3-4 inches) and adjacent tile joints do not have this problem. I would appreciate any ideas you may have about what the cause and cure of this problem might be. Thanks!

Would the adhesive come up even though the floor has been down since 8/00?
Oddly enough, yes it could. Would be even more pronounced in the heating season, just above an area that ductwork runs under, or maybe in the draft area of a register. Am thinking maybe the wrong knotched trowel was used, leaving too much adhesive to start off with. Best of luck.
