Stiebel Eltron Electric Tankless WHeater
Has anyone out there installed one of these electric water heaters? And, if so, what do you think of them?
I could not find any info on this particular brand when I did a search.
I understand that they were the original tankless made in Germany.
I have found much info on tankless heaters in general, but want to know about this one in particular. Pros and cons, please.
Thanks in advance!!
Bryan

Since you are in Ohio, give Energy Reduction in Pa a call. They are a nice group of knowledge people.412-331-4545 ask for Mark and say that Guy in Fla gave you the #.
Spoke with Mark yesterday. Very helpful. Thanks for the advice.
I am going to purchase the Stiebel-Eltron Tempra 24. Mark sells the Bosch brand.

Thanks for the update, I have worked with those people for more than 8 years and have found them to be very helpful.. .even when they are not going to get a sale this time.
When I spoke with Mark, I told him that I had been looking at other brands, but I didn't tell him I wasn't purchasing one from him.
I can get the Stiebel for about $300 less than the Bosch. It should do my home just fine. I only have one bathroom, plus a washer and dishwasher.
I measured my shower and it puts out max. at 1 1/2 gals per min. Even at 39 degrees incoming on the cold water, I should be fine. Now, if I was going to supply two showers at the same time, it wouldn't handle it.
When I get around to finishing my second bath, I will put in a smaller unit just for it.

I purchased the Stiebel-Eltron Tempra 24 from an authorized dealer on ebay for $437 with free shipping. That's a 24Kw unit that uses two 60 amp 240 volt circuits. You definitely need a 200 amp service to supply enough power for these units.

Haven't installed that brand , but have installed some other electric tankless, & too many to count electric point of use ones.
The big one I installed was a Emaax 36KW make your meter spin like a DVD.
Electric heaters all operate on the same principal of resistive heat.
Any tankless gas or electric needs to slow the water down to get a temperature rise----- slower the flow, the more the rise.
