The 60+ yr. old concrete slab stoop is pulling away from the 60+ yr. old brick & block house (+1.5″ gap) 3 sides of the stoop are supported by structural brick with concrete steps up the front. 2 fixes have been proposed – (1) brick over to hide the issue (not a good solution) 2- take it completely down and rebuild. Any other options you’ve seen? Thank you for your thoughts.

First you need to ask why the stoop is moving.
That inevetably leads you to doing even MORE than you fear. It means you'll probably get to demolish, then excavate to well below the frost line. It means pouring new footings and reconstructing the stairs.
Rebuild with footings.
That is the proper fix, often just the area at the house has any support as they built off the brick ledge.
A more reasonable tempory fix might be mud jacking if they can get that mass up. Still doesn't solve the problem of a shallow or no footing.
Gee, and after only 60 years??
Mud jacking. Won't last forever, but should be good for another 20-30 years.
