I just purchased a home with an outdoor firepit. The gas valve is the standard key valve and the previous owner stripped the valve stem by using the wrong size key. I would just replace the valve, but it is set into the concrete. Meaning the valve itself is encased in concrete and I can’t get to it without cutting / chipping up the concrete.
Is it possible to replace the key stem portion without pulling out the whole valve? Or am I looking at cutting up the concrete to replace the valve altogether?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Look closely at the bottom of the square key hole. if there is a screw, you may be able to pull the square mating part off as you would pull the handle from a faucet, then search for a suitable replacement.
I just had to deal with this. All the parts are replaceable through the. front with a few tools.
i have the exact same problem. did you ever find a solution?
