Recently, while installing a set of pivot hinges to some french doors 3 of the 4 screws that hold the bottom portion of the hinge to the floor stripped while installing. I had pre drilled the parquet floor, but still managed to run into some diffuclties. The screws are #10 pan head made of soft brass to match the color of the pivot hinge cover plate. Maybe I didnt predrill large enough pilot holes, but what would be the correct size? any other thoughts?
