Stubby 9/16th drill bit source
We need to drill some 9/16th holes in some steel beams for anchor points.
The throat height on the magentic drill press is too short to allow the use of jobbber length drill bits.
Does anyone know of a source for stubby drill bits, (preferably made in the USA)?

Why not Annular's?
If you are using a Mag. Drill why not just use Annular cutters? A quick google search pulled up some results for a 9/16'th cutter.

I've got a wobbly drill press that does a great job of creating stubby drills out of longer ones.
But if you google "stubby drill bits" you get a few hundred hits. And apparently these are sometimes called "screw machine drills".
You might try Fastenal or Granger if you have one of those locally.
Try McMaster-Carr, they ship quick and costs are typically good... Search under "stub-length" or "screw machine" drill bits...
