I just bought my first house, and it happen to be a block house lacking insulation. My wife and I would prefer to stucco the house, but does anyone have any experience with just coving blue board with metal lath and stucco?? Is there some other technique for this combination or are we better off with just vinyl. We aren’t too concerned with our personnel aesthetic more with resale.

By blue board do you mean insulation, or the gyp board that's made for veneer plaster?
If you mean dow foam by blue board, I'd suggest ripping it off and replacing it with plywood then stucco wrap then stucco.trying to attach lathe to styrofoam is a big no-no
